Kimberly Gilmour is an attorney who has handled employment law — litigation and transactional — for over 35 years. Recently, her practices have focused on mediation and less on litigation.
Ms. Gilmour brings a keen understanding of the effect of conflict to a company’s bottom line as well as the benefits of mediation. She has extensive mediation education, training and experience and strives to aid both parties in reaching the best possible outcome and avoiding litigation.
Since 2000, she has been Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil and County Court mediation. She is a Mediator for the United States District Court — Southern District and Middle District of Florida where she conducts numerous mediations involving wage, hour and overtime issues, as well as discrimination claims. In March 2001, she completed the Florida Supreme Court Arbitrator Training Program. Kim also recently completed the Florida Supreme Court Approved Elder Mediation training and is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator.
In December 2021, Kimberly successfully completed the Elder Justice Initiative on Eldercaring Coordination Eldercaring Coordinator Training.
She is also listed as a Super Lawyer, and received the the Lynn Futch Professionalism Award from the Broward County Bar Association.
A graduate of the College of New Rochelle with a Bachelor's of History and Political Science, she received her Juris Doctor degree in 1984 from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1985. She was then admitted to the Federal District Court Trial Bar in 1994 and began her career in 1985 at the law firm of Tripp Scott, becoming the first female partner in 1992. In 2000, she decided to pursue her career goals and open a private practice where she has worked ever since.
Kimberly lived in South Florida for over 30 years before moving to Northeast Florida in 2021. She believes in giving back to the community she loves, frequently attending charity events and volunteering.
Ms. Gilmour is a past president of the Healthy Mothers-Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County, Inc. and was honored with the Lefkow Legacy Award for her extensive service in 2017. In 2000, she was honored as one of American Cancer Society’s Women of the Year. In 2021, she was honored by the Broward County Bar Association as a “Women Leader in the Law”. She currently serves on the Ad Hoc Committee on Mediation for the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida.
